Hi! I’m Sara and this is my husband, Henry. After years of infertility, last month I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which caused a lot of damage, some irreversible. With that, we have been faced with the reality that IVF is our best option to have a baby that doesn’t put my life or the baby’s life at risk. Unfortunately, our insurance (and most insurances) do not cover fertility testing or treatments, which means we will be paying out of pocket for everything. This includes consultations, testing, and medications, which are all very costly. The average cost of one round is $30,000. On top of this, we are faced with the reality that even at some of the top clinics in the nation, the success rate is under 60%, which means we are potentially looking at multiple rounds, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
With all of this in mind, we have decided to do a fundraiser to help offset some of the out-of-pocket expenses we will be facing. We are so grateful for any and all support given, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds.
